Our Core of Knowledge: Laser and IPL Safety course provides essential training for clinicians and aesthetic practitioners who use light-based devices. Aligned with MHRA guidance, it explains how optical radiation is generated and how it interacts with skin and eyes, forming the basis of safe treatment practice.
The course covers key hazards, controlled-area requirements, beam and non-beam risks, plume control, fire precautions and electrical safety. It also outlines governance duties, including risk assessments, local rules, and the roles of the Laser Protection Adviser and Supervisor. Practical examples translate MHRA expectations into clear protocols for treatment suitability, patch testing, PPE use and equipment checks.
On completion, delegates receive a certificate supporting organisation accreditation and demonstrating a strong commitment to safe and compliant laser and IPL use.
